Christmas at London Zoo 22 November 2018 to 1 January 2019
Get ready for stunning seasonal sparkle as Christmas comes to ZSL London Zoo like never before. Discover our historic site and iconic buildings as a one-mile illuminated pathway winds its way through the Zoo in a magical after-dark experience. With the animals tucked up in bed, explore the trail where fairytale meets fantasy and larger-than-life, illuminated wild animal sculptures rise high into the night sky.
Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park 22 November 2018 to 6 January 2019
Get into the Christmas spirit as Winter Wonderland returns to London's Hyde Park. This free-to-enter family event includes a host of festive fun and activities, including Winter Wonderland ice skating, big top shows, an observation wheel and a huge Christmas market.
Christmas Carols Trafalgar Square 10 to 21 December
Hear festive songs and carols ring out across Trafalgar Square in the countdown to Christmas. Throughout the build-up to Christmas, more than 40 carol groups each sing for an hour beneath the Christmas tree in Trafalgar Square to raise funds for voluntary or charitable organisations. Resembling something of a winter wonderland with the world-famous Christmas tree in place (an annual gift from Norway since 1947), the scene is set for an atmospheric recital of classics during these Christmas carol concerts in Trafalgar Square.
Christmas Festival at The Albert Hall 1 December to 31 December
Enjoy the Royal Albert Hall’s annual Christmas Festival run by classic music specialists Raymond Gubbay. Last year's programme featured a 500-strong choir during Handel’s Messiah, Katherine Jenkins' spectacular Christmas concert, and festive classics at The BT Christmas Concert.
Snow White London Palladium 8 December 2018 to 13 January 2019
The traditional London Palladium panto returns legendary West End theatre with Snow White, starring Dawn French making her pantomime debut. Best known for playing Geraldine Granger in The Vicar of Dible will play The Wicked Queen in Snow White. The cast also includes Palladium panto regulars Julian Clary (The Man in the Mirror), Paul Zerdin (Muddles), Nigel Havers (The Understudy) and Gary Wilmot (Mrs Crumble). Dancers Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace-Mistry, who were professionals on Strictly Come Dancing for many years, will appear as The King and The Queen. Josh Bennett, Simeon Dyer, Craig Garner, Ben Goffe, Jamie John, Blake Lisle and Andrew Martin will appear as The Magnificent Seven.
Nutcracker English National Ballet London Coliseum 13 December to 30 December
The magical Christmas ballet for all the family, with exquisite dancing and Tchaikovsky’s glorious score played live. Over 100 dancers and musicians bring Nutcracker to life. On a sparkling Christmas Eve in a frost-dusted Edwardian London, Clara and her enchanted Nutcracker doll discover a magical world, where she battles with the Mouse King and meets a handsome stranger. As the air grows colder, Clara and her valiant Nutcracker take a hot air balloon ride across London to the glistening Land of Snow where her adventure really begins. From the sound of the orchestra tuning up, to the final bows and cheers, a trip to English National Ballet’s Nutcracker is an unforgettable Christmas treat.
