Easter In London
London this Easter bank holiday weekend has you covered
Easter weekend this year runs from Good Friday on April 3 and Easter Monday on April 6. Four packed full days to keep you busy. Whether you’re after afternoons dazing in sun-glazed parks, extended Sunday pub lunches, evenings at the theatre or 2026’s hottest exhibitions
Passion Plays, Trafalgar Square Good Friday
Wintershall Players return with their huge (think horses, donkeys, doves and a cast of over 100) open-air re-enactment of ‘The Passion of Jesus’ on Good Friday, featuring volunteers from in and around London. Huge crowds are expected but big screens will ensure nobody misses any crucial plot twists.
Easter Sunday Lunch – Across London
Sunday lunch. There’s nothing quite like it. An elemental meal that Londoners take incredibly seriously, debates about what constitutes the ‘perfect’ Sunday roast have been known to last for hours. There is no shortage of top roasts in London. We’ve rounded up the city’s best Sunday meals from a host of homely pubs and restaurants all around town. From snug neighbourhood staples to more bijou gastropubs. A lot of these places get quite busy, by the way. So you’re always advised to book ahead to avoid disappointment.
The Regent’s Park Easter 10K Race, Monday 6 April
Grab your running shoes. If you need to burn off all that chocolate then head to The Regent’s Park. The park is home to the annual Easter 10k race, which also includes an adults’ fun race and a race for the kids. You’ll pass by some of the park’s most famous sights, including London Zoo, and get Easter goodies and an Easter-themed medal at the end.
London Zoo’s Zoonormous Egg Hunt
Celebrate Easter at London Zoo with an unforgettable family adventure packed with discovery, creativity and seasonal fun. This spring, visitors are invited to explore the Zoo on a special Easter egg hunt, searching high and low for six giant Easter eggs hidden around the grounds. Each egg reveals a secret letter and a riddle. As part of ZSL’s incredible 200th anniversary this year, families can then head to the final lawn side location next to the ZSL 200 exhibition to claim a delicious chocolate prize and celebrate completing the trail.
Classical Easter at St John’s, Smith Square SW1
Our Easter Festival brings together some of the finest voices in classical music from across the city and beyond for a week of reflection, renewal, and transcendent beauty. Through choral masterpieces and intimate instrumental works, we invite you to pause, listen, and reconnect with the spirit of the season.
Twist Museum, London’s home of illusions, Oxford Street
Developed in collaboration with artists, neuroscientists and philosophers, Twist Museum is an immersive experience that explores – and puts to the test – the power of your mind in experiencing the world around you. Explore the joy and wonder of illusion. Step into mind-altering immersive rooms, get up close and personal with unexpected interactive illusions, and discover how your brain interprets reality. We advise book your tickets before you arrive.
Easter weekend is a particularly sweet deal. It is a religious holiday that demands you eat as much chocolate as humanly possible.
